The old story of Internet.

When we talk about the old story of all brands like Coca Cola, General Electric or BMW, we think of white and black photos, grandma lens and some nights watching History Channel.

To talk about the old story of Internet we have to think in just ten years ago and a lot of brands unrecognizable now. This photo shows the great portals at 1998, it’s incredible that the Editor’s choice of PCMagazine wasExite (because his community goals)
Yahoo (As a popular portal, and a great mailing service)
Infoseek (Search, search, search) Now the domain is parked to Go.com
AOL (As a cash machine, Americans loved him)
Net center (Of Netscape navigator)
Lycos (As a portal with personal homepages of Tripod)

I remember this sites, in that year really known, now, nine years latter we only know that Yahoo is die and the monster is Google, who was not in that list because was a baby with only one year of life. Some words wasn´t created even, like blog, xml, rss, mp3, Ipod, wiki, jeje.

Google has succeeded in toppling Microsoft from its high horse as the world’s top-ranked brand, shows a study by market research firm, Millward Brown, published in the Financial Times, Reuters reports. As the ‘new number one’, Google has not only knocked the socks off Microsoft (number 3), but managed to race past well established brands, including General Electric (number 2), Coca Cola Company (number 4), Wal-Mart Stores (number 7), and IBM (number 9).
Surely ten years latter, this story will be very, very old, we hope not be too old.
